Louis Prima performs with a Shure Unidyne on the set of Hey Boy! Hey Girl!, a movie in which he costarred with his wife, Keely Smith. The movie was loosely based on the couples’ Las Vegas act. It was one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas in the mid 1950s, featuring the vibrant song-and- dance team performing with Sam Butera and the Witnesses.
Early in his career, Elvis Presley was often photographed with the Shure Unidyne. His first album, released March 13, 1956, became the first album in history to sell one million copies. The King used Shure microphones throughout his career. When he died in 1977, he had sold more than 41 million albums, recorded 107 Top-40 hit songs, and made 33 movies.
